Cattle on Feed Preview 04/18 09:01

                        USDA Actual Average Guess Range
Cattle on Feed:
On Feed April 1 xxxxx 101.8% 100.4-102.2%
Placed in March xxxxx 103.8% 97.9-106.0%
Marketed in March xxxxx 96.8% 95.7-98.4%

"Estimated placements and total cattle on feed in the April 1
Cattle on Feed report are expected to be moderately higher than
year-ago levels," said DTN Analyst Rick Kment. "Total placements
are expected nearly 4% higher than a year ago, although the
overall range has widened. But, in general, it is expected that
firm gains in cattle placements will be seen. Marketed cattle
during March are expected to be reduced. The adverse winter
conditions and storms seen over the last two months are expected
to significantly reduce gains, pushing sales back in many
yards."

The USDA Cattle on Feed report is scheduled for release at 3
p.m. EDT Thursday.
